Newport Beach Country Club Could Add 78 New Residences: A portion of Newport Beach Country Club could become a new residential community after the city's Planning Commission recommended moving forward with a proposed development agreement. The project, known as Fairway Three, could bring up to 78 residences to the northeastern portion of the property. The proposal now awaits City Council consideration, potentially as early as October. No final construction plans have been approved.

Fashion Island Plans a New Oceanfront Dining Destination: Fashion Island is preparing to transform its former P.F. Chang's and Cheesecake Factory spaces into a new dining destination called Coastal Overlook. The renovation will reposition the existing buildings to take advantage of panoramic ocean views, with expansive windows and new restaurant concepts. Construction is expected to begin this fall as Fashion Island continues updating its retail and dining offerings.

Laguna Beach Plans 11 Miles of Underground Power Lines: Southern California Edison is advancing five projects that would move approximately 11 miles of electrical infrastructure underground in Laguna Beach. The work includes portions of Bluebird Canyon, Top of the World and areas extending toward Aliso Viejo. The projects are designed to reduce wildfire risks, with construction potentially beginning in 2027 or 2028, depending on permitting.

Costa Mesa's Popular LAB District Is Expanding: The developer behind The LAB Anti-Mall and The CAMP has purchased the neighboring Pep Boys property on Bristol Street for $10.5 million. The acquisition adds an 18,000 square foot property to the company's growing collection of retail and commercial spaces in Costa Mesa's SoBECA district. Plans for the site have not yet been announced, but the purchase is part of a broader effort to expand the area's shopping, dining and entertainment offerings.
